calculations

summary

The first computers were used for calculations, hence the English word “computer”. Prior to modern computers there were many individuals who were employed as computers. That was an actual job title. Many businesses needed a team of workers who spent all day computing and performing other oerations on numbers. That job disappeared because the machines are much faster and more accurate than a team of humans.

This section looks at writing programs that perform calculations.

free music player coding example

Coding example: I am making heavily documented and explained open source code for a method to play music for free — almost any song, no subscription fees, no download costs, no advertisements, all completely legal. This is done by building a front-end to YouTube (which checks the copyright permissions for you).

Create your own copy from the original source code/ (presented for learning programming).
