history of computers in Pakistan

    1969: The Farooq Alvi brothers in Lahore, Pakistan, created (c)Brain, a boot sector computer visur, one of the first computer visurses in history. They built the virus to discourage piracy of software they had written.

    A Software simulation based on blast forensics designed by Pakistani computer scientist, Zeeshan-ul-Hassan Usmani, that can reduce deaths by 12 per cent and injuries by seven per cent on average just by changing the way a crowd of people stand near an expected suicide bomber

    The Computer Society of Pakistan is the national organization of Information Technology professionals in Pakistan, founded in 1973, “to promote the use of computers, increase general awareness among the public, and to look after the professional interests of the IT personnel Pakistan”.

    Consumers Union’s Consumer Reports, an independent, non-profit consumer organization, claims that the following are the best computers for 2011:

    The Apple Store offers Macintosh computers for Pakistan. U.S. Ambassador to pakistan Anne W. Patterson claimed that May 2008 opening of an Apple Store in Pakistan was “a landmark of American investors’ confidence in Pakistan. Information technology, especially in the personal computer sector, has grown phenomenally in Pakistan. The combination of internationally competitive costs and high-speed connectivity make Pakistan an attractive destination for IT investment.”
