Eliza

This project is available as open source source code under Apache License 2.0 (see legal details below).

Eliza is a famous computer program from 1965 that simulated a conversation.

NOTE: The installed program uses a number of support functions for login, user registration, etc. The assumption is that if you use this for your own purposes that you will probably have your own versions of these basic utilities.

basic strategy

We will start with a reasonably faithful PHP translation of the original program (as best I can deduce the original from the available versions on the internet).

The eliza.php page is the main shell page the user sees. The elizaserver.php handles the AJAX for each new user input. The elizafunctions.php has all of the support functions to actually parse the input and reply.

Building a game — open source code This is the actual source code from a new web game. See the game at thissideofsanity.com and read how this was built starting at example code.

This is example code from the SlamZee project and This Side of Sanity, released under Apache License 2.0.
