This is an attempt to provide a source code template for those who are interested in learning programming. This discussion centers on coding a website. This discussion uses real software from a music website, a political discussion website, and an educational website. You can review the actual software yourself and use it as the basis for your own projects.

summary

This section includes a discussion of how to code for a website and three different sets of source code.

There are no particular assumptions on your skill or the state of your website (from just dreaming to already in heavy use).

You should be able to use this guide as a step-by-step manual for creating a new web site or jump around freely to add particular features to an already existing website.

While I include a little introductory material for those who haven’t yet built a website, the vast majority of this material can equally be used for both those starting from scratch and for those improving an existing website.

Some materials can be implemented independently, including various techniques to improve your SEO.

overall design

The design uses an object oriented approach, with a thin procedural control layer on top.
